FIELD TBell Work:

  1. Turn to a partner and summarize Act II, scene 1.
  2. Compare the evidence you gathered in your bubble maps. Add any information your partner has that you do not to your on pages 87 (setting), 88 (Anne Frank), and 89 (your choice of character) in your interactive notebook.

Class Work:

    1. Read Act II, Scene 2 (p.334) of The Diary of Anne Frank.
    2. Update your bubble maps on pages 87-89 of your interactive notebook with evidence from today’s reading.
      • Your evidence should describe your character’s
        • Actions
        • Thoughts/feelings
        • Dialogue
        • Physical description
      • Your evidence should also describe the setting’s
        • Physical description
        • Atmosphere (tone/mood)
        • Effects on the characters
    3. Update map of Secret Annex where necessary (page 90)

PERIOD 3-

Class Work

    1. As a group, pick one character (excluding Anne) about which you will write.
    2. Gather more evidence from the text describing his or her
      • actions
      • thoughts/feelings
      • speech
      • physical description
    3. Write a body paragraph addressing the prompt: How does the playwrights’ use of characterization affect your understanding of the Holocaust?

Homework:  Progress Reports are TOMORROW.  Work on assignments which are less than 5 days old to help your grade  for Interims.  FIELD TRIP  FORMS AND $$$$.
