Bell Work:  Get materials from cart by the door- handout  and a box of colored pencils.  Turn in signed syllabus to the tray in back of the room.  IA Notebook leave on your desk.

Homework:

  • Unfinished classwork (plain polly/ LA Day 1 and 2/ Tree Map coloring/ THINKING MAPS handout/ CHECK GRADEBOOK!)

  • Sign up for REMIND 101 (see tab above for directions)

  • Signature on Syllabus (GREEN PAPER)

  • Additional Supplies

  • Interactive Notebook is due no later than next Monday, 8/22/2016

  • Take Home folder by Monday, 8/22/2016

Classwork:

1. Practice using the maps by completing the following:

a. Bubble map (pink) describing yourself.  Finish this from yesterday.

b. Circle map (orange) defining growth mindset.  Use highlights in article from yesterday.

c. Double bubble map (purple) comparing and contrasting self with neighbor.

d. Tree map (green) organizing class schedule into the following categories: favorite classes, least favorite classes, and challenging but worthwhile class.

4. Collect Thinking Maps (and all 3 handouts) in packet with folded bubble maps paper around it.  Papers to be put in IA notebook on Monday.

5. Unpack Unit 1.
